Playground

In 1986, the untimely death of Ed Rosenberg, who had contributed to the Community by participating on the Pool Committee and the Board, led to an outpouring of community spirit. Monetary donations and donations of time and physical labor by many community members resulted in the Ed Rosenberg Memorial Playground being erected. Located to the rear of the community center and adjacent to the pool, the wooden "Bob Leathers" style playground is enjoyed by the nursery school, pool members and many other children of the Hollow.

In 2002 the playground facility and grounds underwent a rejuvenation due to worries about the possible contamination by arsenic in the treated wood which the playground is constructed from. The EHCC board voted to completely clean and seal the playground structure and clean up any contaminated dirt and gravel beneath and surrounding the structure. This project took several weekends to complete and many residents turned out to help. You may read about this project by clicking here.
